Black History Month is so important to us because it reminds us of our heritage and legacy. It also brings to our attention many things that we didn’t know about our our race and influential members of our race, that have not only impacted us, but the entire world as a whole. It provides us the opportunity to recognize the great contributions that we have made to society. And most importantly, it gives us a sense of love and pride within ourselves: our race, as well as us as individuals.

So often, we are put down, looked over, made to feel inadequate, and have to work harder than the rest just because of the color of our skin. However, this month reinforces positive stereotypes and encourages us to never be ashamed of who we are. While we celebrate our Blackness every day of the year, Black History Month is essential to us, to remind us of where we’ve been, where we are now, and where we are going.

I am so very proud of all of the amazing people of color that I see every day impacting the world in their own unique way. Whether it be through science, medicine, business, engineering, technology, music, art, comedy, sports, etc. we are extraordinary people with great talent, beauty, and intelligence. We continue to stun the world with what we are capable of and what we can bring to the table.

God has gifted us as a people, and I am grateful He chose me to be of this wonderful race, full of people of varying hues and degrees of melanin.

It is important to us to continue to celebrate Black History Month, to encourage us to continue the journey of greatness our ancestors set out on, and to forever be reminded that without them and their dedication, blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice, there would be no us.

We use this month to not only celebrate, but to reverence us as a people and all that we’ve had to go through over the many years, just to be where we are today.

The struggle is real. But so is the love, the growth, the unity, as well as the level of excellency we continue to strive for and obtain each day.

I Love My People.

We Are Marvelous Individuals.

We Are A Force As A Collective.

We Have Changed The World For The Better.

Black Is Beautiful.

We Are… Gifted. Talented. Intelligent.

Made in HIS own Image.

Happy Black History Month!!!!
